Coniston Early Years Centre is a well established pre school that has been operating for over 60 years. We offer a welcoming family friendly atmosphere where the children are at the heart of everything we do. We believe in promoting children’s self confidence and self esteem and giving them a firm foundation on which to build their learning.

We have large homely indoor space in which children are able to explore a wide variety of activities along with their peers and with the support of experienced knowledgeable adults are challenged in their thinking. In addition to our indoor space we also have a large garden where children can develop their physical skills and which provides them with challenge. We also have a second smaller garden that has been created to provide a ‘feeling of Hygge’ (see separate Hygge heading for more details) for the children and this provides those who are less confident with a greater degree of support to develop their confidence.

We believe in the importance of learning through play and use every opportunity to stimulate and challenge children’s thinking. We encourage skills of problem solving and critical thinking and encourage children to have a go, test their ideas and enjoy the outcome of their explorations whatever it may be!!!
